Location: Gaziantep (alternative locations may also be considered), Turkey

The E-commerce & Entrepreneurship Specialist will work to develop e-commerce aspects of blended learning courses and develop the internships programme including identifying companies, setting internship learning goals, placement and monitoring the internship.  Developing e-commerce curricula requires ICT skills, internet marketing skills and experience with different platforms. The position holder will lead all E-Commerce and Entrepreneurship initiatives in Turkey, including coordination with the institutions where the initiatives will be implemented and with the partners. The specialist will also provide assistance on implementing entrepreneurial training programmes and ensuring training of trainers so the universities have the capability to continue with these activities after the project ends. S/he will contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives related to E-commerce and Entrepreneurship in the region, contribute to the organization’s strategies in the related fields and actively gather and disseminate best practices/innovations and learnings in the whole organisation, especially to the staff working on that particular topics in order to facilitate internal learning

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities and tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifies and analysis entrepreneurship/e-commerce specific technical needs of the SPARK projects based on the market requirements;
  • Develops content/ tools/ guidelines/ manuals to meet the technical needs;
  • Conducts desk research and follows up new developments and current trends concerning entrepreneurship/e-commerce in the region to support development of the implementation strategies of the SPARK projects and its partners;
  • Provides support to the project teams, partners and beneficiaries to develop work packages and implementation plans for their entrepreneurship programme and e-commerce solutions;
  • Provides technical inputs, suggestions and feedback to improve the quality of the projects’ implementations and progress reports;
  • Analysis the project teams’ and partners’ technical performance, including the needs for further capacity development;
  • Develops program specific internal and external training modules as needed and delivers the trainings in cooperation with the Country Managers and HR;
  • Assists the Country Managers and PMs in stakeholder representation and management.

Requirements and Skills

  • BA or MA in a relevant discipline related to international development, with a preference for candidates with some trainings in economics and technologies;
  • Substantial professional experience (at least 5 years) related to economic development in developing countries, working with multilateral, bilateral or non-governmental development organisations;
  • Ability to interact with various support positions (sales, logistics, product, etc.);
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and transfer them to the e-commerce system;
  • In-depth knowledge of -commerce platforms and online gateway systems,
  • Experience of working with affected populations, especially refugees and displaced populations;
  • Previous experience in developing tools and guidelines and delivering trainings, coaching and mentoring;
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in politicized and multi-cultural settings with a wide variety of stakeholders;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, networking and representation skills;
  • Ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner, and to use innovative forms of communication;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (Turkish and/or Arabic highly desirable)
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally;
  • Turkish nationality only.
